A brand passionate about men's shirts, Polo was founded in 1976 and sought to become an industry leader in lounge shirts. The Polo shirts with the square button were first made in their Lansdow's factory and in no time, a Polo shirt developed a reputation for quality. As a result, it became one of South Africa's most important shirt manufacturers, producing for prominent local brands. From 1978 onwards, the company began producing shirts for international brands, such as Christian Dior and Lanvin.. Soon, the business expanded its production lines to expand its menswear collection, as well as the Polo ladies' collection and other product categories, making it a lifestyle brand. Polo is synonymous with quality, a signature preppy aesthetic and is a uniquely South African brand.
